operator details -La Gran Sabana expedition 4 days / 3 nights. Come join us for a real authentic 4x4 wheel Jeep expedition with Fran Khazen, discovering this fascinating world of La Gran Sabana in Venezuela.** DAY 1: Puerto Ordaz El Dorado The Indian Camp. Early in the morning we start our excursion from Puerto Ordaz, one of South Americas most modern and important industrial cities. The last details of our journey are discussed during our meeting; later on we climb into our jeeps to set off on the long trip to the Gran Sabana. The stretch that leads us through the legendary mining areas of El Dorado first discovered by Sir Walter Raleigh and the rubber seeker cities of Tumeremo and Guasipati. Afterwards, we enter a jungle area with many nameless mining sites. In the afternoon we will arrive at our camp. The Anaconda camp in Las Claritas (A typical gold mining town) is a very camp with air conditioning and very good food sleeping in nice beds. After having settled down we shall visit a gold mine and return to the camp. We will have a good local meal and a nice sleep during the night. DAYS 2 - 3 - 4: Waterfalls and River Excursions. This track shows you the beautiful world of the Pemon Indians, the Tepuis of the The Lost World which tower up to the sky, breath taking waterfalls, rapids and Indian settlements. We head for the waterfalls Kama, Meru, Arapan Meru, Yuruani Meru, Karo Paru famous for its semiprecious Jasper, Aponwao and many more incredible places. In all of these waterfalls and rivers you will have the opportunity for a refreshing bath. There are also one excursions by boat included crewed by local Indian people, as well as adventurous trails we will cover by jeep. We will spoil you with top-class food. Icy beer and refreshing drinks set the scene for a relaxing atmosphere, including the best company of La Gran Sabana: Frank Khazen (Recommended by the Lonely Planet, (Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Italian spoken). DAY 5: End of Expedition. After our last breakfast together, we start our trip back to civilization. We will visit other sites missed on the way down to Santa Elena. Around five o�clock in the afternoon we shall arrive in Puerto Ordaz. **This tour can begin in Sta. Elena or Puerto Ordaz / Ciudad Bolivar and end in either one. Frank your Expedition leader will promise you: A unique experience of being one of the few persons getting to know this magic and unexplained energy that you will fell when entering La Gran Sabana. Exploreing the most remote and virgin places located in the north of South America, including real authentic indigenous towns full of legends, impressive waterfalls, astonishing and paradisiacal landscapes, beautiful rivers, endemic vegetation, prehistoric sacred mountains, tranquility and absolute isolation still with a complete virgin nature. Frank personally will be waiting here to pick you up assisting you in the airport with a banner with your name on it. An Optional extra day price per person $130: A Visit to Diamond and gold mines: Leaving with our 4x4 vehicle at 9:00 a.m. Driving a long the dirt road that runs parallel between the border of Venezuela and Brazil, a great drive surrounded by forests and savannas. Upon arrival at the mines, you will observe the local miners and there way processing there artisanal mining of gold and diamonds. You will have the opportunity to do mining your selves with the help of the local miners, taking pictures if you want, and you can buy rough diamonds and gold nuggets at cost price here!. Next, meet the population of Pauji, a mystical place where many cultures come together with real Indians, miners and hippies. Observe the northern part of the Brazilian Amazon and Tepuy Wopan Jungle; a 30 minutes walk, where you will enjoy the emerald waterfall, with time to swim and enjoy this refreshing cristal clear waters.
